CNL has been led by an outstanding group of volunteers since its founding in 2003. Called the Leadership Team, this governance group consists of senior nonprofit executives, current and past board chairs/presidents of member nonprofit organizations, and experienced community members from a variety of executive and other professional backgrounds. The Leadership Team elects a chairperson annually to lead CNL and meets monthly to review progress toward strategic goals and conduct other business of the organization.
A Curriculum Committee reports to the Leadership Team and is responsible for developing, promoting, and presenting workshops. A Best Practices group exists to assess opportunities for sharing "best practices" exchanges with members, as does an ongoing interest in offering Affinity Groups and now blogging and other means by which we might all benefit from informal dialog and information sharing.
CNL engages a part-time Administrator but otherwise is reliant on volunteers from member organizations and the community to energize and power CNL. This keeps CNL's ability to provide high quality services at a small fraction of their actual value—and thereby enables member organizations to benefit from reduced fees for unusual high quality educational experiences.
